FrontierNav Update: 23 September 2024

Android App

• FrontierNav now has an experimental Android app.
  • You can find it on the Play Store.
  • It behaves similar to if you install or "Add to homescreen" from the website.
  • This app mostly exists to see what the appetite is like for an Android app. Especially for people who mostly use app stores instead of web browsers.

Data Import

• Data imports will now only be applied if they succeed without errors.
• Improved data import speed.
• Data import configurations can now be saved and loaded.
  • This avoids the need to re-configure imports if you navigate away from the import page.

Changes Import

• Added support for importing changes from a different wiki.
• Improved changes import speed.

Data Tables

• Added CTRL + Space shortcut to add a new entity/row.

Interactive Maps

• Map tiles now support arbitrary path templates for fetching tile images.

Sign-in Authentication

• Redesigned sign-in modal dialogue.
• Added support for email auto-fill with password managers.
• Added button to open an email app when signing-in with an email link.
• Pages requiring sign-in will now show a sign-in button instead of a 404 page.

Stats and Activity

• Added data counters under game box arts.
  • This is to easily see how much data wikis have without needing to click around every single one of them.
• Added "Trending" sort option for wikis in the "Explore" page.
• Added "Trending Categories" section to game homepages.
  • This replaces the "Featured Categories" section.
  • Featured categories are still used in the navigation drawer and if there isn't enough trending categories.
• The "New & Upcoming" section now shows the days until or since release.

Navigation

• Re-organised links in navigation drawer into data, community and personal groups.
• Renamed "Entities" page to "Database" for clarity.

Custom Lists

• Redesigned custom list cards to match redesigned category cards for consistency.
• Added "Lists" page under member profiles to see lists they've created across different wikis.
• Fixes custom lists breaking when visiting your own wiki profile's lists page.

User Interface

• Redesigned category cards to be shorter and wider to reduce scrolling and fit longer category names.
• Made overview sections shorter on mobile to reduce scrolling.
• Blurred background of modal dialogues to keep focus on the dialogue.
• Moved "Add wiki" button in the wiki switcher to the left of user controls.
• Added the current version of the app in the Settings page.
• Removed user banner from the Settings page.
• Removed "FrontierNav" home banner when signed-in.
• Reduced size of play state overlays on game box arts.
• Moved wiki URLs from /explore to /wiki for better semantics.
  • Links to /explore will be automatically redirected to /wiki.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons

• Fixed Animal Crossing: New Horizons' Critter Calendar not showing anything for "All critters".
