Firefox's Mysterious Autocomplete

After switching back from Linux to Windows, I noticed something odd. Firefox kept suggesting old websites I used to visit. It would even suggest them ahead of the more frequent and recent websites I've visited. Type github.com and Firefox would always autocomplete it to github.community. Random websites from 10 years ago would appear despite clearing my history and removing them from my bookmarks.

I thought it would fix itself as I continued to use it. But it didn't. So I started looking. It seems the only solution is to close Firefox completely and delete the places.sqlite file from your profile folder. Next time Firefox is launched, it will rebuild it correctly. Problem solved... for now.

Thanks for reading.
